Overview
There are two main ways to monetize an AI Agent: direct monetization and indirect monetization.
Direct monetization
Use an exclusive AI Agent when you want people to pay for access. Exclusive AI Agents can include a limited number of free messages. After users use their free messages, they are automatically prompted to subscribe.
This works well when the AI Agent provides personal guidance, expert knowledge, ongoing support, or access to a valuable method.
Indirect monetization
Use a public AI Agent when you want to support sales, answer questions, qualify leads, or guide users to the right offer. A public AI Agent does not need to be sold directly to create value.
Connecting offers
During the AI Agent build process, you can connect Payment Links or relevant offers so the agent can recommend or guide users to a next step when appropriate.
Examples of AI Agent monetization
Paid AI fitness coach
Paid business advisor
Course support assistant
Challenge follow-up assistant
Lead qualification assistant
Sales assistant connected to offers
Premium support layer for members
Best practices
Make sure the agent has a clear purpose, strong knowledge base, and a natural next step. If the agent is exclusive, the free-message experience should be strong enough to show value before the subscription prompt appears.
